Long prized by paddlers and pleasure boaters alike, Lake Pend Oreille offers everything from sunrise shoreline cruising to all-day, cross-lake excursions. The 43-mile long lake provides plenty of room for wake boarding and water skiing, and its sandy beaches are perfect destinations for a stand-up paddleboard. Paddlers looking for a wilderness experience on the water can put in at Johnson Creek, on the East side of the lake, and paddle up the Clark Fork Delta to the Green Monarchs, which crown the Coeur d’Alene Mountains and tower almost 3,000 feet above the least-developed stretch of Lake Pend Oreille shoreline.

For an altogether more leisurely experience, kayakers can paddle right up to the deck of the Bottle Bay Resort and Marina, directly across the lake from downtown Sandpoint, for a huckleberry daiquiri.
